Maths fun

We used two-sided coloured counters to write number sentences.
We noticed patterns -
2 + 6 = 8   6 + 2 = 8
1 + 9
2 + 8
3 + 7
4 + 6
5 + 5

Making Paper

We made our own paper for our Christmas cards.
We soaked old paper in a bucket of water for a few days.

We blended it all up to make paper pulp.

We tipped the pulp into a large container and added water and glitter.

We had to scoop the pulp onto the wire frame.

We carefully squeezed the water out of the paper pulp.

We removed the wire and left our paper to dry for two days.

Beautiful sparkly paper.

Our Bush Walk

We walked along some streets until we got to the bush.
We had something to eat and drink on the grass.
Then we walked into the bush.
The bush was like a forest.
It was fun.
There were steps going up and steps going down.
There were some little bridges and everyone thought they were troll bridges.

Shu's Song

On Wednesday, all the juniors of Redwood School went on a bus trip to Wellington.
We went to see a show called Shu's Song.
It was a little different. There was no talking. There was only the characters moving and music.

Shu discovered exciting things in the office it lived in.
The telephone became its friend. Shu was sad when the book it opened made a big storm and her friend blew away in the wind.

We loved the bus ride. We saw a lot of cool things out of the window.

We waited outside Hannah Playhouse for all the children to arrive.

We waited inside for the usher to take us to our seats.

 Almost time!

We had a great time.
